Those Shawls that Look Like They're Out of a Dickens' Novel

One of the things that has me excited for Fall this year is our shoulder wrap/shawls in several fabrications and a multitude of subdued colours.  They are out of the past, as in Victorian times, but now worn in a most modern and urban way.

Stay tuned for their arrival.......

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year: Early Fall at Tattered Rose

What do you get when you cross a Victorian cowgirl with Charles Dickens' Miss Havisham...then you throw in a smidge of Gypsy, a Bag Lady, an Urban Romantic Business Woman, a Gothic Witch and for good measure, a hint of Steampunk Vixen?

That's a Tattered Rose customer and she shops at Tattered Rose because she knows that she will always find something beautiful, unusual, timeless and lovely to wear.  She doesn't want to follow the crowd and neither do we.
Our Transition-into-Fall lineup includes the following:
*extra beautiful scarves & shawls...some tailored, some whimsical and some reminiscent of a Dickens heroine.
*cardigans, sweaters and sweatercoats.....from light to medium weight, in shapes and style to suit anyone's taste
*Dusters....long coats in all sorts of fabrics
*Jewellery befitting everyone from a Victorian bride to a Gothic Princess
*MORE MORE MORE Sympli the Best in the colours you will want to & forever, plus lots of black!!!
*Velvet shawls and clothing....decadent & luxurious
*Cotton & faux linen long skirts & dress for hitching up or letting down (new colours:  dark chocolate brown and black tie-dye!)
.....and much more!
What an exciting time of favourite because you can layer to your heart's content♥

Tattered Rose is a very eclectic & unusual shop.....we hope unlike any other you have ever been to....something for just about any woman!

Sympli the Best Collection at Tattered Rose

No matter what you do or where you live, there is something from the Sympli the Best line that will work for you. As a clothing designer, I always gravitated towards natural fibres and preferred working with them in my designs. So polyester didn't play a part in my own wardrobe or the selection of clothing available at my store, Tattered Rose.......

Until one day, I decided to give it a try, both in the shop and on my body. The small collection I had brought in sold out. By then I had worn a few pieces myself, mixing them with my wovens and wearing them with jeans and I loved the fabric!  It doesn't wrinkle, it sits away from the body and best part of is an ever growing line that offers new styles and colours every season.  You can just keep collecting because nothing really goes out of style.

Fall 2013 two colours stood out for us at Tattered Rose:  spruce (green) and sangria (burgandy)......both which we will have in the shop soon.

Tattered Rose Colours for Fall 2013

You'll never see neon yellow, orange or green in Tattered Rose....not that there's anything wrong with those colours but they just don't go with our style.  If we are to evoke the faded grandeur of times gone by, we will always have darker, more muted, unusual colours.....and of course, black!

So here is our fall line-up of colours:

Glamour & the Outdoors: Photo Shoot at a Victorian House

Recently, Tattered Rose provided the clothing & accessories for a photo shoot at a Victorian house.....right here in Edmonton.  Upon first walking into the home, I personally felt like there were some positive spirits with us (besides the people there to work on the shoot)  The others confirmed this feeling, but by the time the photo shoot was underway, we forgot all about them.

These are a few shots from the photo shoot.....more to follow, hopefully. Such natural, beautful models....thank you ladies for wearing our clothing so well.
Also, thank you to Monika (photographer) for contacting Tattered Rose in the first place.  Your photography is excellent!

Amanda Rose:

Stay tuned for our own location photo shoot happening in a few weeks.
Location:  Fort Edmonton Park
